You can make a very painless contribution to my campaign if you live in Oregon and file a state tax return.  You are allowed to take a credit against you state income tax, dollar for dollar, up to a limit of $50 for an individual or $100 for a couple filing a joint return.  (You don’t have to itemize deductions, but you will have to file a standard form that allows tax credits to be claimed – in contrast to an Oregon Tax Form 40 EZ)  I will need to know your employer’s name or your occupation if you are self employed, to satisfy campaign finance laws, and I cannot accept checks drawn on corporate accounts.  You are limited in how much you may contribute but, if you send me too much, I will return the difference -- $1000 is safe!  (Jack Brown for Congress cannot accept corporate contributions, but Friends of Jack Brown can receive contributions from anyone.)
